Bib Number
All registered participants will receive a bib number that must be worn on race day.
Please do not alter the bib in any way.
The bib must be worn on the front outside of all clothing during the entire race. Timing chips will be on the back of the numbers, so if you lose your number, we will not be able to give you an official time.
Bib numbers are non-transferable and must be worn by the registrant to whom it is assigned.
You must be in good health and physically prepared to undertake the challenges of a marathon.
All participants must complete the entire course unaided except for the aid provided at the aid stations, or emergency aid provided by emergency professionals. No personal aid from a spectator or runner is permitted. This does not mean that you cannot have someone run along side you for motivation or conversation.
Participants must follow and stay on the course. In most cases, the entire trail surface is available to the runner. Where flags/stakes are used, shortening the course by not following the flag line is against the rules and may expose the runner to unsafe conditions.
Offensive clothing, obscene language (vocal or signed) is not permitted.
Participants will sign a registration form acknowledging that they participate at their own risk and waive liability of any claims against Goblin Valley Ultra Marathon, LLC and its directors, sponsors, and partners for personal injury, death or property damage.
Participants consent to any emergency medical treatment deemed necessary by medical specialists partnered with the marathon.
Participants agree that their image may be recorded by video or photography during the race for the use of the Goblin Valley Ultra Marathon, LLC or Emery County along with their names and city/state in broadcast, newspaper, brochures, and any other media without compensation.
Start Procedures
There will be a mandatory runner’s meeting that will begin approx. 30 minutes before your designated race. All runners must attend as we will discuss how the course is marked, and what to expect during your run.
Packet pickup will begin at 6:30 am and continue until shortly before the start of each race. If you are running the half marathon, you do not need to pick up your packet at 6 am. Unless you want to. That is fine too.
The 50k race starts at 7:30 am, marathon starts at 8:30 am, and half-marathon starts at 9:30 am.
Finish Procedures
The final 1 kilometer of each race will drop down into the Valley of the Goblins, around through the Valley, then back up to the finish line. This trail will be marked but flags/arrows.
